Welcome to Coastal Georgia Tres Dias

WHAT IS TRES DIAS? Tres Dias is an inter-denominational 3-day weekend retreat. The focus of the weekend is "God's unmerited love." The weekend is designed to show the "agape" type love that God pours out on us. This is love that is unconditional, unmerited, and for which the only true response can be love in return. The goal is to empower Christians to become leaders within their families, their small groups, their churches, and their communities.

WHY IS TRES DIAS SO SPECIAL? There are two things that make every Tres Dias weekend special! The first, and most important, is prayer! Once a person completes a weekend, they become part of the Tres Dias "Community". The community is made aware of the weekend schedules, and it is the responsibility and desire of the community to hold each weekend up in prayer! These weekend retreats are literally "bathed" in prayer, love, and support. The second is the support of the Tres Dias Community. Very often, people are touched by God's Love in a powerful way on their weekend, and it becomes their desire to share that experience with others. It is this "community" of believers that support the weekend retreats with their prayers and their physical labors. Christians work behind the scenes of every weekend to make certain that the needs of the participants are met!

WHAT TRES DIAS IS NOT! Tres Dias is a "once in a lifetime" experience. Once a person has attended a weekend, they are not permitted to attend again, unless they do so as a future team member. Following the weekend, participants are strongly encouraged to participate in small "share groups" or "home groups" (referred to in Tres Dias lingo as "reunion groups"). It is NOT intended to become an alternative to your home church or practice of worship. Tres Dias is NOT intended as a means of getting someone saved. It is not a denomination, nor is it designed to become a focal point of worship, other than during the particular weekend. There is no proselytizing! No particular denomination or group is encouraged or discouraged, as long as that denomination or group follows the basic tenets of the faith as expressed in the various creeds. Essentially, Tres Dias is the expression of unmerited Christian love exhibited by the Father through His people! It is the desire of the Tres Dias community that participants will return to their home churches with the empowerment of a revitalized relationship with Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit!

Hello Pescadores!

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the summer. If you are receiving this email it is because you have at one point in time or another expressed interest in helping to get the Coastal Georgia Vida Nueva community up and started.

We are planning to have the very first weekend in our community in the spring of 2010! WOO! HOO! That being said, there is a lot for us to do. You are familiar with how a Tres Dias weekend runs as you have been a candidate, and possibly had the opportunity to work.

Vida Nueva is very similar to Tres Dias, but there is a lot that is different as well. The talks are formatted to be relevent to Teenagers, and some of the Chapels are different, in addition to doing everything in a day less...the schedule runs slightly different.

For our community to be totally prepared to run a weekend, we need everyone that can; to be at the training meeting we will be conducting on Saturday July 11, 2009. The meeting will be at the Metter Church of God, in Metter, and will run from 9:00 am- 3:00 pm. This will be a "Dry Run" and we have several brothers and sisters comming from the Central VN community to help instruct us.

If you plan on being there please PLEASE email me back so that I can get an acurate number for lunch. Also spread the word, we want everyone interested to participate, we are still trying to get a complete and accurate email list, so if you could help us plug this date that would be helpful.

The Church is easy to find:
Coming from I-16 turn NORTH on Hwy 121, and continue through town, 121 turns into N. Lewis, you will see Guido Gardens on the Right, and just down from there on the Left will be the church. (the church is aprox 3-5 miles from I-16).

The address is:
Metter Church of God
785 N. Lewis Street
Metter Ga. 30439
